How can I teach my 13 month old spanish?
My husband and I do not speak spanish but we are really interested in teaching our daughter spanish. I’ve heard several opinions regarding how to go about this. My daughter is not talking yet except for da da and ma ma but she understands when you tell her to do certain things. We will be taking some classes next month to Learn Spanish. I recently ordered a Spanish Cd with songs,numbers, & ABC’s. A friend also suggested changing the Language on the TV to Spanish.
Also, She really loves Elmo DVD’s. She has just about every DVD Seasame Street has ever made.
Would it be a good idea for her to watch Emo in Spanish? Will teaching her Spanish this early confuse her or delay her speech?
It won’t confuse her or hinder language development. How many kids grow up Speaking Spanish and english in the US these days? Kids aren’t all that dumb lol she will learn to differentiate because you speak english to her. just don’t mix the different languages in one sentence.
Elmo is probably best option since it’s something she likes. IMO. you wouldn’t want to spend a bunch of money on something only to find that she never bothers with it.
