Should I bother applying to any Ivy League Schools?

My SAT score is 2090, mainly because of Writing because my Critical Reading and Math scores are both close to 100 points higher than my Writing score. My ACT score is 32. I’m second in my class. My GPA is 3.9 unweighted (4.0 scale).

I’ve been an officer in Student Council every year in high school. I’ve been published in a national Christian devotional magazine three times. I intern for a plastic surgeon. I’ve been on four mission trips and this year I am going on two more. I’m involved in Beta Club, Spanish Club, and Interact Club. I’ve taken voice lessons for five years and been involved in multiple plays. I have the opportunity to attend a leadership seminar through Furman University and a Genetics Research Program through Duke University.

Do I have a decent chance of being accepted to any Ivies and if so which ones?

I can tell you that some schools don’t consider the writing section of the SAT….Cornell is one Ivy that comes to mind that does not…so it that is a concern regarding you SAT……Cornell is a great choice for you.

It is hard to say if you have a decent chance vs. not. You don’t mention the rigor of the classes you’ve taken. Have you taken many AP classes? How have you done on those exams? Additionally, every Ivy requires at least 2 SAT Subject Tests. Have you taken any? How have you done? Based upon things that I have read and heard from various sources, University admissions committees rely on AP and SAT 2 scores in order to determine an applicant’s future success in college as they are better indicators than the SAT 1. Don’t get me wrong, they like high SAT scores for external marketing purposes when they report their median scores to the public.

You certainly have a chance….but only if you apply. The competition is fierce and much depends on the applicant pool when you apply. Good luck!
