The basic rules of this language teaches you how to break the whole words into their prefixes and base words. There are around fifteen basic rules regarding how to form a word into verbs, adjectives and nouns. And this should be enough for you to be able to learn the others because the other rules are more or less the same as these fifteen basic rules.

However if you are too lazy to learn the rules, you do not have to worry. You can still learn how to speak Indonesian without worrying about the grammar. By communicating often with the locals, you will soon pick up the ‘essence’ of Indonesian language and that way you can learn to speak the language without even knowing nor understand the Indonesian grammar rules in it.

My mom is European spanish, and for her birthday I want to have a conversation with her in Castilian, my dad does not know Castilian and if I learn from my mom it’ll ruin the surprise. I know the basics I just really need to learn how to talk in the Castilian accent, does anybody have videos where people talk in the Castilian accent? Or can tell me how to pronounce the accent? About how long will it take to have a good understanding of the spanish language, using Rosetta Stone?

I’m willing to put at least an hour into it per day, and I already know some spanish. Going through the level 1 of Rosetta Stone in spanish, what are the chances I will be able to carry on a conversation after it’s completion? Also, about how long will it take to get though level 1? With rosetta stone is simple and easy, but you won’t get the indepth knowledge of Spanish like you would from taking a class. You get the basics, they go over vocabulary but as far as really learning and understanding how to structure verbs and create very basic sentences, I think that you will find it falls short a little. But it is good for vocabulary use. I think it would take a while to really learn with it, and you would have to have some additional resources if you really want to become semi fluent or have a good command of the language. I would suggest if you could do it, spend some time in a language institute in central America they don’t cost very much and Costa Rica has great schools there and its a beautiful country. I learned a little before I went to a school in Costa Rica and after 4 months I was speaking without thinking.

Not Being Bilingual in the Job Market?

I live in Texas and was recently laid off due to drop in profits at a large offshore drilling company. I have been applying at different jobs, but I am getting “Are you bilingual (English/Spanish)” alot. I have completed 3 years of Spanish, but I was taught “proper” spanish…NOT the dialect spanish that is used in Mexico. So, I can’t understand some of it and I refuse to pretend like I do. I was half shocked, half amused reading all the stuff on the Internet about how learning Spanish is “easy” and how some guides teach you How To Speak Spanish in 21 days. I always wanted to ask the people writing this kind of guides, exactly who they think they’re fooling. Spanish, just like any other language, takes time to learn. You know that you want to get the bigger picture out of the small pieces, but before sticking them together you’ll need to start with the corners to give you a base (the “child” vocabulary mentioned above). After that, you need to understand the rules involved in sticking the pieces together (Spanish grammar) and finally, you will have to start picking the small pieces one by one and attach them to the forming picture (improve vocabulary).

Improving vocabulary in Spanish can be done in a number of ways. Probably the most common one is “relating objects”. That means that if you learn a new word from a specific category (fruits for example), you should expand your vocabulary in that particular category first, then move on to another related context.

For example, you learn the word “apple”, you move on to words like “pears”, “strawberries” and “peaches” then after you’re done with that distinct group of words, move on to bigger contexts in which you can use them such as “kitchen”, “farms” or “marketplace”. This will allow you to learn new words from the new bigger contexts and at the same time, re-use the words you had learnt in the smaller categories, which “fixes” them better in your memory.

I’m not saying this is THE only way of learning Spanish from scratch, but trust me, if you manage to follow these easy steps, you’ll soon have a solid and correct grasp of the Spanish Language. There might be faster methods of learning a new language out there, but this old fashion step-by-step one practically restrains you from taking any huge leaps in the learning process and skipping some important stuff.

If you want to add some spice to your language learning process, you can try playing some word games, watching some Spanish shows on TV and last but not least, you could search the internet for some free language lessons online or even better, those free online “learn Spanish” videos that you can find all over the world wide web.

Discover Why Using a Spanish Verb Conjugator Speeds up Learning Spanish

Everyone would like to learn a new language and Spanish, in particular, is one of the most obvious choices for English speakers throughout the world. As with all new challenges there is always a certain level of excitement and expectation prior to starting a language course and the student is often lulled into a false sense of security as the initial lessons are usually quite easy and are understood comfortably. However, it isn’t long before the honeymoon period is over and the student has their first taste of Spanish conjugation.

Being an English speaker makes it pretty easy when it comes to verb conjugation, the formation is quite straight forward as shown in this example: I bake, you bake, he/she bakes, we bake, and they bake. The clear difference is to the verb ending in the 3rd person singular, where an s has been added. This added s could also have been es depending on which verb is used. However, there are, as per normal, a few verbs in English that are formed a bit differently, but I think the example used will highlight the point I am trying to make quite well enough.

However, when Spanish Verb Conjugation is compared to how English verbs are formed they can only be explained as complex, this is why so many chuck in the towel and forget any idea of being able to speak Spanish well when they begin to struggle with them. Here’s a brief example of a regular Spanish ar verb, hablar (to speak): I speak – hablo; you speak – hablas; he, she or it speaks – habla; you speak (polite singular) – habla; we speak – hablamos; you all speak or you speak (plural) – habláis; they speak – hablan; and lastly…you speak (polite plural) – hablan.

One should also note that the example used in the previous paragraph is that of a regular ar verb, there are also two further verb groups that both have different endings and they are the group of verbs that have –ir and –er as their endings, comer (to eat) and vivir (to live) for example. Consider also that many of the most commonly used Spanish verbs are irregular, which means that they do not adhere to the normal verb patterns, and then there is the little matter of understanding how reflexive verbs are formed. Put this all together and you will then start to understand the issues that many students have problems with.

A Spanish verb conjugator can make the difficult task of learning verb conjugation far more appealing but nevertheless the task is still laborious and difficult, until recently, that is. For a few years individuals relied a lot on verb conjugation books and no matter how these books were redesigned there was little improvement on decreasing the time it was taking to learn verbs or in how they were studied. However, this is  and this is due to the increasing popularity of the home computer and the internet . Recent developments in verb conjugation software has not only improved the speed at which students learn verbs through using interactive study, but it has also made the task much more enjoyable.

To finish up with, I will give my opinion as a fellow pupil of Spanish, regarding verb study. It is possible to master verb conjugations with the sole use of conjugation books as it has been for many, many years and that fact cannot be disputed. However, since being introduced to a verb training software program a couple of months ago I must say that it definitely improves conjugation study and it also makes them much easier to remember which, in turn, speeds up the whole learning process.

How can I become more fluent in spanish in 1.5 months?

I am a college student studying history and spanish. I am a freshman. I just finished Spanish 301 and have a month and a half break between semesters. I feel confident in my ability to speak spanish but I need a way to learn more native and advanced spanish from my house. Can anyone recommend studying techniques, habits, or specific resources that would help me continue to improve my spanish?

-Make friends with fluent speakers.
-Watch Spanish TV and movies (subtitles can help sometimes)
-Listen to Spanish radio.
-Walk around your house and name everything you see in Spanish, look up anything you can’t name or ask friends.
-Do the same when driving (and listening to a Spanish radio station).
-Get an American-Spanish Dictionary if in US (if you don’t have one). I don’t find Castillian ones to be as helpful. University of Chicago is my favorite dictionary.
-Try to learn to distinguish different Spanish accents (i.e. Mexican, Cuban, South American…) Learn the voseo forms of verbs.
-Work on subjunctive, reflexive and irregular verb forms.
-Try to translate songs, small paragraphs, e-mails as you hear/read them.
I could go on…

You’ll soon be sick of Spanish, but you’ll learn a lot quickly. LOL
