What is your opinion on teaching K4-6graders Spanish in the public school systems?
Just this year, our elementry school did away with Music class and now are teaching the kids to speak Spanish. I personally don’t like this idea. Not that theres anything wrong with Spanish, but doing away with music class for spanish, I don’t think is a good self-motavator for young children.
You guys are giving very good comments, I’m from MS. and where my kids go to school there are only 2 Mexicans and they are learning English. So there’s not alot of Spanish Speaking people here. I love music and I think that its great for kids to have the opportunity to expand and want to find themselves through music. Learning Spanish, to me, is something I elected to do in 12th grade. Keep posting comments, I want to know what others think.
There is absolutely NO WAY that this should be mandatory. Children should be taught Spanish if they choose to.
